Erskine College is located in the idyllic academic village of Due West, South Carolina. The town and the college, with a number of antebellum buildings, are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Numerous lakes and recreational areas are minutes away as are the cities of Greenwood and Anderson.

The century-old Grier monument, above, a memorial to Erskine's fifth president, Dr. William Moffatt Grier, is believed to be the first statue in South Carolina erected in honor of an educator.
